Mangalore, Apr 19: It was a special moment at the press club here on Thursday April 19, very different from the day-to-day usual press meets. For a change, the reporters in the city got to witness the unique bonding between two extrordinary individuals who had come together in matrimony.

Sanjay and Priya, two dwarf artistes with Jumbo Circus, celebrated their marriage and shared their joy with the world through the medium of press on Thursday.

Rehama Mashaka Ponda, one of the African artistes in the troupe, organized the simple celebration, together with circus in-charge Shree Hari and Selemani Hamisi Rajabu who leads the African group.

Sanjay, a native of Bihar fell in love with Priya from Madhya Pradesh while they were working for Jumbo circus in different units. As the story goes, Priya at first rejected his proposal, which pushed Sanjay into depression and contemplated ending his life. However, the manager of Jumbo Circus and brother of Shree Hari managed to convince Priya. The couple then got married in Kerala.

While Sanjay performs as a clown, Priya is a trapeze artist. The two of them along with Rehama and others cut a cake to celebrate.

Jumbo Circus, which is on at Karavali exhibition ground, will end on April 29. The wedding celebration was held as a farewell party by Rehama.
