Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 30: The coastal region experienced moderate rainfall on Saturday. Intermittent rains were reported across Dakshina Kannada, including in Mangaluru, Puttur, Bantwal, Sullia, Kadaba, Ullal, and Subrahmanya.

Various parts of Udupi district also witnessed moderate rainfall. Light showers were reported in the morning, followed by sunny weather later in the day. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, rain is likely to continue in some parts of the coastal region over the next two days.

Subrahmanya, Siddapur record maximum rainfall

In the 24 hours ending at 8:30 am on Saturday, Subrahmanya and Siddapur recorded 5 cm of rainfall, the highest in the state.

During the same period, the rainfall recorded in other parts of Karnataka was as follows:

• 4 cm: Bantwal, Agumbe

• 3 cm: Gerusoppa, Dharmasthala, Kollur, Manki, Bhagamandala

• 2 cm: Sullia, Udupi, Kumta, Mani, Kota, Sringeri, Talaguppa

• 1 cm: Bajpe, Ankola, Nilkund, Gokarna, Beltangady, Puttur, Brahmavar, Sirsi, Karkala, Bellur, Napoklu, Tyagarthi, Nanjangud
