Margao, Dec 13: “Poetry awakens the humanness, the reflection of life can be seen in it. That’s why, poetry is not only limited to ideas, It is an amalgamation of ideas, feelings and change. All the three components make a good poetry,” stated Dr Chandralekha D’Souza the Academic Director of Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr (TSKK).

Dr D’Souza was speaking as a Chief Guest at a inaugural function  of monthly poetry meet under the title “Otlolim Bhavnam” organized by Dalgado Konknni Akademi (DKA) recently here at Woodlands Hotel’s Bianca Mini Conference Hall.

DKA President Premanand A Lotlikar, chairperson of poets’ meet Pandharinath  D Lotlikar and DKA secretary Jose Salvador Fernandes were present.

Dr D’souza further said that there is no other medium to convince others than poetry, poetry inspires to change the present. But in today’s scientific world, to what extent we have preserved the poetry, she questioned.

DKA president Premanand A Lotlikar in his presidential address informed that every month  DKA will hold its Kavi Sammelan and three poems will be asked in advance, which will be studied
critically and discussed on the day of Kavi Sammelan.

In the poets’ meet held after the formal inauguration 19 poets from all over the state participated and presented their poems.

DKA executive member Tarkeshwar Naik welcomed the gathering, while DKA secretary Jose Salvador Fernandes compered the function and proposed vote of thanks.
