Abu Dhabi, May 27: It was ‘Dhamaka’ time at the Abu Dhabi Country Club on Friday 27 at KCO‘s "Fiesta 2011", a superb show with all the ingredients befitting an extraordinary entertainment extravaganza, in the presence of a full house audience.

KCO’s fund raising event with the support of its benevolent sponsors was a runaway success. This event showcased the unity and organizational capabilities of KCO members who worked hand in hand for the success of this show.

The day-long programme had all the elements of a perfect cultural feast.

The programme commenced at 11.10 am with a prayer song followed by KCO‘s theme welcome song specially composed for this event, rendered by KCO members.

Leslie Rego, the dynamic compere laid the foundation for an eventful day in his inimitable style raising the rhythm.

The day's line up of entertainment had three sessions evenly distributed with ample scope for entertainment comprising songs, music and dance.

It was Kenny, the great entertainer, who began the cultural feast to the cheers of the packed audience, setting the tempo of the day. His first song entitled "Bombil Mary" and "Kurlyo" straightway encouraged the crowd to the dance floor.

This was followed by Ester - the youngest rising star from Mangalore, who is making waves with her distinctive voice and style rendering her first song "Dees Budthana" and "Mog" to the applause of the audience continuing the rhythm set by Kenny.

With tempo building up slowly, it was the turn of the Goan Band "Lynx" from Goa, which mesmerized the crowd when they set the stage on fire, compelling the ecstatic crowd to take on the dance floor. Their songs, foot tapping music and the crowd pulling power was so great that they proved why they are considered as the number 1 band in Goa as well as in India. They entertained the crowd with English, Hindi and Konkani all-time favourite dance numbers.

Ester, who is also an accomplished classical dancer showed her prowess and talent by performing Bharathanatyam to the admiration of the audience.

The entertainers delighted the holiday crowd, mostly Mangaloreans, Goans, and others, with their brilliant performance throughout the day.

Kenny also rendered songs like "Musumbi Lila", "Zubi Zubi", "Any Size" etc, while Ester crooned "Chedu Bombaichem", "Ugdas", "Bara Sorun", "Tuzo Mog" "Dariachya Larani" , "Phalie" ,"Lambada", "Ramo Ho", "Mysterious Girl" and "Piti Piti" to the delight of the audience.

In between the ongoing sessions Gerald D’Mello, the KCO president welcomed the audience and gave a brief on KCO’s philanthropic activities, which necessitated them to hold this kind of event. He thanked the caring sponsors for their tremendous support towards KCO’s cause. He also thanked the audience and his team of KCO’s enterprising Members for their unstinted support, which has helped them to stage this kind of mammoth event.

The sponsors, the media (Daijiworld), artistes, compere, well wishers and sound engineers were honoured on the occasion.

The highlight of the day was the scintillating dances by Bollywood dancers who enthralled the audience with their action packed movements. It was a real thrill to watch these dancers performing live and so professionally. The crowd wanted more - such was the impact created by these dancers.

To top it all, it was Leslie Rego, the vibrant master of ceremonies who held such a mammoth crowd spell bound with his wit and humour, sensing the pulse of the crowd, making way for the smooth functioning of the days’ event.

Sumptuous lunch was also served during the event.

There were plenty of prizes to be won, by means of spot prizes, novelty dance, raffle draws etc. The auction was conducted by Leslie and the raffle draw by KCO senior members.

The ever popular Baila and masala was the climax of the day, which encouraged everyone present to dance to their contentment which concluded at 6.30 pm, with people unwilling to leave the dance floor and asking for more.

The whole show was very well organized, meticulously planned and whatever shortcomings surfaced were dealt with instantly.

Organizing this mammoth event KCO has proved their capability in organizing awesome entertainment programmes such as this. Hats off to KCO for their quest for excellence and their mission in helping the needy back home, specially deserving students in their pursuit of knowledge.

It was a good show organised by KCO. Lynx, Kenny & Ester were too good. Only sitting arrangement was very inconvenient. People could not get up and mix with - due to less space between tables. But otherwise it was a good show. Keep it up KCO and thanks for doing this show for charity.

Good show, to spend a long day with music and dance. To note that the number of konkani lovers are more day by day and in house sitting arrangement of very inconvenient. People could not get up and mix with - due to less space between tables. Also people enjoy more of live band and singing than karaoke support. Lynx band was superb.
