Kuwait, Apr 24: Creative Indian Association's Hot Stepper Presents Indian Carnival 2011 with music trio, Toshi-Sharib brothers and Neeti Mohan from Indian music industry at the entertainment city, Kuwait here on Friday April 29 from 2.00 pm to 11.00 pm.

The event will be graced by Indian Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Ajai Malhotra. Kuwait’s very own DJ Flames will have you grooving at regular intervals with all the new and happening at the music scene back home. And for the very first time in the carnival, get ready to enjoy the artists rocking on live band performance which is sure to take your breath away. The event promises to provide day filled with fun and frolic for the entire family.

About the Performers

Toshi Sabri

Muhammad Ovez Sabri, popularly known as Toshi Sabri is today, the most viewed singer in the You Tube. Toshi, a brilliant music director, composer and dynamic stage performer, was born in Punjab later moved to Jaipur in Rajasthan.

Hailing from a musical family, he started singing at an early age. Sabri's father Ustad
Akram Sabri is a classical Indian musician. Toshi had to struggle a lot once he shifted to Mumbai without finding a decent job for he had not given his std XII examinations.

However, wanting to prove himself and to get a big break, he sang at weddings, parties, occasions, restaurants, and even in a bar. In 2007, ‘Voice of India’ introduced Toshi to the world. Toshi was one of the participants on the show and won many hearts worldwide. He was also the finalist in Star Plus’s ‘Jo Jeeta wohi superstar’ contest. He teamed up with Mika Singh in ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’.

Toshi is a learned songster and specializes in many genres ranging from Quwali, Sufi, and Romantic to Pop. He shot to fame after singing the chartbuster song "Maahi" for the movie Raaz 2 (Mahesh Bhatt). He also composed the song along with his brother Sharib, thus becoming one of the youngest music director duo in the bollywood.

Some of his popular numbers are Saaiyan ve, Mil ke yu of the film Jail, Vada Raha from the movie Vada Raha, title song of the movie summer of 2007, Nathani Utaro of Horn OK Please, Kanha of Veer, waqt kid hoop of the film Kissan, Sehri of the telugu movie Oye and has also sung the entire albums of the movies Jashnn and Phir. The forthcoming movies with Toshi- Sharib music duo are Will u Marry Me has him singing a very romantic song "Kalma”. Shunya, directed by Puja Bedi, also will have a song "Jalwanuma" sung by him, Haunted - (the first 3D horror movie) to be released in April has two songs by Toshi and his brother Sharib, and a promotional song for the Akshay Kumar film “Haule Haule Ho Jaye Ga Pyar”.

Sharib Sabri

Like his brother, Toshi,Sharib Sabri too did not hesitate to discontinue his studies after grade 11, just to focus on a full time musical career. Born into a musical family of Jaipur, Rajasthan on December 29, 1988, Sharib got his first public recognition in the ‘Sa re ga ma pa challenge -2005’ where he emerged among the best 12 contestants, and subsequently a runner-up with Banjyotsna Gohain in ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa -Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’. He also competed against 20 competents in ‘Junoon kuch kar dikane ka’ competition.

Being a multi faceted and versatile music personality, the year 2009 saw him in a different light, when he emerged as a music director in the bollywood movies like Raaz-The mystery continues (Jan 2009), Jashnn (Jul 2009) and Vaada Raha…I Promise (Sept 2009). He moved ahead a step by the end of 2009, in the movie Jail where he was the lyricist as well as the music director. He has also rendered his voice in playback singing in some of these movies like Veer, Jail, Jashaan and Summer 2007.

Sharib’s popularity ratings soared higher when Shankar Mahadevan’s team won the ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’ where Sharib’s performance was very much applauded by the industry veterans like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ilayaraja, Anand Raaj Anand, Abhijeet, Aadesh Shrivastav and many more. His hard work, unique singing talent and determination helped him reach the heights of bollywood in a relatively short span of time.

Today Sharib is not only known for playback but also for his phenomenal compositions and music direction along with his brother. He is also a dynamic stage performer and sets any given stage on fire with his rocking performance. His pairing with his brother Toshi as the new emerging music director-singer duo also seems to have promising results.

Neeti Mohan

She is one of those girls whose upbringing was based on discipline, as she was sent away to a boarding school in young age and within the confines of school’s stone walled corridors and amphitheatre, she found her true calling, performing arts.

And this was the spark that caused the conflagration, which led to her active involvement in every possible Extra-curricular activity, be it singing, dancing, leading the school band or theatre. Beside this she was adjudged best NCC cadet and represented India as YEP cadet.

Young Neeti got trained herself in Hindustani classical music and ballet, jazz and other form of dancing. After attending three creative years in Miranda House pursuing philosophy, she embarked on her creative journey by joining ‘Dance worx and Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyalaya’ in Delhi which led to the culmination of Channel V’s ‘Popstar hunt’ and formation of her band ‘AASMA’ some six years ago.

The band has performed in over 1000 shows, having Rubbed Shoulders with Bryan Adams and who’s who of the Industry. There is no stopping for this bunch of young nerves. Now Neeti is not only known for her power packed performances on stage but she is one of the favorites among the crowd, also her fans and acquaintances believed that there is an actor hidden in her. Being a regular on AR Rehman live shows, she has also tried her hand on acting with a role in a Sunny Deol production titled 'Socha Na
Tha' and has rendered her voice in playback singing in the movie titled ‘Fruit n Nut’.

Within no time she has bagged prestigious offers for hosting television shows. She was one of the winners of the show Channel V Popstars and her group ‘Aasma’ composed of the winners of the show. She was also on the Star Plus show ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’, where she was part of the winning team Shankar's Rockstars led by Shankar Mahadevan. Her popularity has not only yielded her gigs in India, but she has a huge fan following in foreign countries as well, and has been flooded with offers from countries like the USA, Australia, and the UK.

Coming from a highly talented family with flourishing careers, Neeti is the eldest of four sisters. Her sister Shakti Mohan is the winner of the show Dance India Dance on Zee TV and her sister Mukti Mohan, was part of the winning team 'Masakali girls' on the dance show ‘Zara Nachke Dikha’ on Star Plus. She also has a sister Kriti Mohan younger to her.
