Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Aug 14: A flight journey was cut short and all the passengers were alighted from the aircraft and the flight was intensely checked for any sabotage on Sunday, August 14, in the afternoon at the international airport here.

One of the passengers in the Indigo flight from Mangaluru to Mumbai, noticed a young boy and a girl chatting on the mobile. He got suspicious and brought this to the notice of the cabin crew. Immediately, all the passengers on board were deboarded and the whole flight was checked for any sabotage.

The girl was waiting for her flight to go to Bengaluru while the boy was ready to fly to Mumbai. Police sources said that both were friends and they spoke about the security just for fun.

Reacting to the incident, the airport authority has said, "Officially, as the airport, we have nothing to state about the incident. We request you to reach out to local law enforcement agencies for details."

City police commissioner N shashi Kumar said, "Two friends were chatting on WhatsApp and another person has overseen the message where he saw some issue which led to panic. The indigo flight borne from Mangaluru to Mumbai was stalled. As of now no complaint has been lodged.

The person who oversaw the messages of young adults must be the same person who informs the right wing when boarded in the bus !! Arrest this man for public nuisance and ban him from flying for 2 years.

Ok, so it was a false alarm and a nuisance, but think for a moment if it had been a genuine case of impending terror! With today's radicalized drug driven highly educated terrorists marauding all over the world the authorities need to pursue every input to stay a step ahead of terrorists.

That is called poking nose into life of others for which Mangaloreans are very famous for. They don't bother about what is happening in their houses but always interested what is happening with neighbours..Need to file a case against the person who breached privacy of the young man.

Surendra Poojari, Mangalore i agree with you poking nose into others matter, gossiping is common in Mangalore city. In bigger cities like Bangalore, Mumbai people dont bother what happens in their next door. Thats the reason most of the mangalore people who have settled in such bigger cities never prefer to come back and settle in their home again.

What is happening in our peaceful Mangalore? Seriously people are really gone nuts. Either interfere in others life or spied on others . I believe Mangalore airport security is the best. They check good and questions the passengers throughout. Now this person spy on others conversation just to delay everyone travel. Phone conversation is not going to risk unless security has not done thier job during check in at the airport

"Just for fun" goes to show the preparedness from the ground staff and primarily from the security point-of-view. It is proved they didnt conduct a security check at all. They didn't do a thorough job. It's funny that alarm bells rang only after this was brought to the notice of the crew. There wasn't any need to do so if the seriousness was displayed by the authorities. Shows how irresponsible the airline industry is and taking the customers for a ride.

You mean to say airlines or airport staff now need to peep into the mobile phones of everyone present in the airport and scan their chatting history? If I were one of these, I would have filed a complaint with the police against the person who peeped into my mobile phone while I was chatting and invaded my privacy and raised alarlm unnecessarily. Is chatting within the airport premises or in the flight, a crime?

Hmm hope you know that intelligence agencies and law enforcements can read what you do on internet without your knowledge. So there's nothing called as privacy in reality

No! They just cannot do it unless your phone, email security has been compromised or breached. They don't have time and mechanism to read all the chats, monitor phone activity of 1.2 billion people on everyday basis. If that was the case, most of the drug peddlers, terrorists, smugglers would have been in police net without much of an effort. Yes! Hacking is possible or invading mobile through some malicious apps and programmes too is possible. But it does not mean it is being done with every mobile user.
