Bengaluru, Jul 27: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has strongly condemned the murder of BJP worker Praveen Nettaru of Sullia in Dakshina Kannada.

The miscreants responsible for this heinous crime will be nabbed soon and subjected to rigorous punishment under the law, Bommai said.

The Chief Minister has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy has also condemned the murder of Praveen Nettaru and attacked the Basavaraj Bommai led BJP government in the State for its total failure to maintain law and order situation in the State.

“The dastardly murder of Praveen Nettaru soon after a similar murder of BJP activist Harsha in Shivamogga shows the incompetence of the Bommai government in handling the law and order situation,’’ the JD(S) leader said and asked the government to state why it has not taken action after Harsha’s murder.

Kumaraswamy said it was deplorable that one after another youth is killed but the BJP government has failed to control the anti-social elements, who are spilling blood to settle their personal and political scores, he said pointed out that another youth Masood was also murdered.

The former Chief Minister said the ruling BJP is busy playing the communal card to further its nefarious political objectives and said the police must act ruthlessly to control the anti-social elements playing havoc with innocent lives, mostly from the poorer sections.
