Mumbai, Jul 25: Konkani Bhasha Mandal held talent competitions presided over by its president John D’ Silva at St Jude church auditorium, Kurla west on Sunday July 24. Fr Avin Franklin, chief priest of the church inaugurated the programme.

Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra president Rons Bantwal and Deacon Silvester Lobo were present on the dais as guests of honour.

John D’ Silva said that competitions such as these help to showcase talents. “Therefore, parents should encourage their children to participate in them,” he said.

Francis Olivera, Antony M Fernandes, senor drama director Joy Palladka, Dolphy Menezes Kallianpur, Hilary D’ Silva, Judy D’ Souza, Shawn Arel, Joyce D’ Souza, Flora D’ Souza Kalmadi who were special guests were honoured with flower bouquets.

Honorary chief secretary Lawrence D’ Souza welcomed. Bhasha Mandal active member, programme convener Leo Fernandes Jerimeri, treasurer Walter D’ Souza Kalmadi and joint treasurer Cyril Castelino presented flower bouquets to guests and honoured them. Grancita Fernandes compered the programme. Joint secretary John R Pereira rendered a vote of thanks.
