Pune: Elderly Parents, Two Sons Found Dead


Pune, March 24 (IANS) In a suspected case of family suicide, decomposed bodies of a couple in their 60s and their two sons were found at their home in Bavdhan area of western Pune, police said Thursday.

"The bodies were found in a decomposed state late Wednesday. But we have not found anything suspicious from their flat. There were no strangulation or other marks on any of the bodies. It may be a case of suicides," a police officer at the Hinjewadi police station said.

The deceased have been identified as A.T. Narayanan, 65, his wife Indira, 60, and sons Vishnuvardhan, 35, and Madhusdan, 28, all residing at Bavdhan.

Narayanan's neighbours had informed the police about a foul smell emanating from the flat.

"Only medical reports will be able to ascertain the exact cause of their deaths. We have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination," the police officer added.
