Satish Sharma Denies Knowing 'Aide' Named in US Cable

New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) Congress leader Satish Sharma Thursday denied that a man who allegedly showed US diplomats money to pay off MPs in 2008 to win a parliament trust vote was his political aide.

"(Nachiketa) Kapur neither was ever nor is my political aide," Sharma told journalists. "This is totally baseless."

The Hindu Thursday carried a leaked WikiLeaks cable that quoted a US diplomat as saying that Kapur had showed money which he said was meant to be given to Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) members of the Lok Sabha.

The report described Kapur as Satish Sharma's political aide.
