Tulu Koota Kuwait Annual Get-together Great Fun


Kuwait, Mar 9: The 11th annual family get-together of Tulukoota Kuwait at Mishref Garden held, recently was a thrilling and fun loving experience for a gathering of over 900 people.

Despite the dusty weather Tulukoota Kuwait members showed up in large numbers and took part in the fun filled activities and games arranged for them. This year’s picnic too proved to be yet another unique and wonderful experience surpassing the audience’s expectations. Delicious breakfast was sponsored and arranged by committee members Harish Bhandary, Yadunath Alva and Govind Babu.

The get-together commenced with flag hoisting, National Anthem, march past and inaugural session. Inaugration was completely planned and designed by culture secretary Ronald D’Souza. The inauguration was done by president Swarna Shetty and sports secretary Faustine Pinto. Morning hosts Kavitha Kidiyoor and Suresh Salian welcomed the audience. Later Purandar Manchi, briefed the audiences of days activities.

Volleyball, Throwball, Kabbadi, had large number of team participants. But the games were very well organized and co-ordinated by Wilson D’Souza, Sachidananda Suvarna and A K Ravindra. Chocolate picking and lucky game entertained the nursery group kids.

Coin picking from ice and get ready to school entertained the primary kids, while remix games for girls and boys was the main attraction for senior kids. Ladies participating in “Breaking the pot” and “Kodappana race” was a scene worth watching. “Wheel Barrow Race” for couples and “Shakti Pradarshana” for men had large number of audiences cheering and thrilling the participants. Senior citizens participated in the musical chair and fun filled quizzes specially arranged for this group.

Tug of war and Govinda had large participation. Lunch arrangements was supported by Indian delights restaurant. Refreshments were provided by Ibrahim Pinto’s Group. The afternoon session was beautifully hosted by Ramesh Kaup, Manoj Shetty, Shalini Vijay and Harish Bhandary. Agnel Saldanha kept the audiences entertained with his witty hosting skills. Raffle prize draw was held later in the evening.

This year’s picnic truly exemplifies beautiful team work put in by the committee members and the leadership qualities of sports secretary Foustine Pinto.

Ground marking team lead by A K Ravindra did a wonderful job with laying of tracks and courts for conducting games, public relations officer Chandrahasa Shetty and his committee members assisted membership renewals, and registered new members at the event. Treasurer Yadunath and his team supported the raffle sale and lunch coupon sales at the event. This year’s raffle coupon sale for the event was lead by Tulukoota Kuwait vice-president Ramesh Kidiyoor. Back office support was provided by Rekha Sachu, Kripa Gatty, Jacintha Gretta, Githa Suvarna , Sanath Shetty, Babita Shetty and
Pushparaj Hegde.
