Mangaluru, Jun 5: The satellite phones have started ringing again in the coastal and Malnad districts of Karnataka.

In the last 10 days, satellite phones have been used from four locations to make contacts. It has come to the knowledge of the intelligence agencies that the satellite phones are active in Natekal on the outskirts of Mangaluru, Kulai, forest area between Kadur and Birur in Chikkamagalur, Yellapur and Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district.

Though for the past several years it has been reported that the satellite phones are used sometimes to contact people in these districts, there is no clue so far regarding the people involved and the purpose of these calls.
