Bantwal, May 28: While it is normal for a person, items or vehicles to go missing, the PDO here has complained to the police regarding a 'missing' well in Narikombu village.

The well, constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Project is missing and Narikombu gram panchayat development officer Shivagondappa Birader has lodged a complaint at the Bantwal town police station.

“The well was constructed at Nelyadka, Narikombu gram panchayat limits during the year 2012-13 for public use under MNREGA project at a cost package of Rs 73,305. Dayananda Poojary, has illegally closed the well and grabbed the land with the well. Therefore, legal action should be taken against Dayananda Poojary who has caused loss to the government by closing the well,” stated the PDO in the complaint.
