Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar organizes blood donation, medical camp

Doha, May 16: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (An associate organization under Agies of Indian Embassy, Doha Qatar) as part of its social responsibility organized annual blood donation and Medical check camp at Indian cultural center premises. Event was conducted in association with Indian Cultural Center, Hamad Medical Corporation and Al Abeer Medical Center.

Chief guest of the event was Indian ambassador to Qatar Dr Deepak Mittal, dignitaries in attendance for this event included president of Indian Cultural center PN Baburajan president of Indian Cultural Benevolent Forum Vinod Nair, vice president of Indian Cultural Center Subramanya Hebbagilu, Dr Nityanand, representing Al Abeer Medical center, advisory committee members of Karnataka Sangha Qatar V S Mannangi, Arun Kumar and H K Madhu. Presidents and committee members of affiliated Karnataka community organizations based in Doha, Qatar.

Dr Deepak Mittal in his address to gathering highlighted the significance of blood donation and hailed the community activity of Karnataka Sangha Qatar for organizing this event which will help Indians and other international residents in Qatar. Discontinuing the previous tradition of felicitation to Dr Deepak Mittal, flower bouquet was replaced with donation towards workers ICBF Insurance. KSQ president Mahesh Gowda in his speech thanked past presidents for starting this blood donation campaign 15 years ago as part of annual calendar, thanked all the volunteer donors for joining hands and making success for this campaign, thanked Abeer medical center for there support for blood donation and medical check-up desk.

Dr Preetam, reputed Cardiologist from Abeer Medical Center also highlighted the benefits of donating blood to the large gathering at the event.

Blood donors from Indian as well as other foreign communities turned out in large numbers and contributed to this noble cause by donating blood. Appreciation certificates and KSQ memorabilia were issued as token of appreciation to all the donors. Chief Communications Officer, Chairman of Supreme Committee for Health care communication Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Khater on behalf of Hamad Medical Center issued Certificate of Appreciation to Karnataka Sangha Qatar in appreciation of organizing blood donation campaigns and promoting a culture of voluntary blood donation.
