Mumbai: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association Holds Seminar on Career Guidance

Mumbai, Feb 17: Vasai Konkani Welfare Association in collaboration with Aldel Education Trust, Palghar held a free career guidance seminar for class 9th  to 12th standard students at St Gonsalo Garcia Church hall, Vasai recently.

Fr Louis Fernandes of Gonsalo Garcia church inaugurated the seminar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that today’s generation is lucky to have such a training session to make easy their career- choice.

Dominica Pascal Dabre, chairman of Bassein Catholic Bank was the chief guest of the programme.

Albert W D’Souza, chairman of Model Co-operative Bank, Aldel Education trust presided over the function. He was the key speaker of the seminar. He spoke on the overall career opportunities and importance of planning in life.

Steven Lawrence D'Souza, former IPS also spoke on the opportunities at the administrative sector and the finance sector. Dr Latha Ramachandran, dean of management studies of St John Institute of Management and Research spoke about the career boost by choosing management studies.

Prof Caroline Pereira of St John Institute of Hospitality and Research spoke on the raising career opportunities at the hospitality sector.

Dr Savita J Tauro, principal of St John Institute of Pharmacy and Research spoke on the opportunities at the medical sector and the pharmacy sector.

Dr Satish N Takalikar, principal of St John College of Engineering and Technology spoke about the career opportunities by choosing engineering and technology field.

The president Stephen Fernandes welcomed the guests. Vice-president Ened D’Souza, Romona Lewis, and Sonal D’Souza introduced the guests. Joint-treasurer Aveline Pinto proposed the vote of thanks. Ancy D’Souza Paladka compered the programme.
