Mumbai: Bunts Nyaya Mandali holds 20th and 21st annual meetings together

Mumbai, April 27: “I have come to know the difficulties of ordinary people after serving in the Lokayukta for five years. It is unfortunate that people are facing injustice from the legislature, executive and the judiciary. The people today only want authority and wealth. There is nothing to say when a person returning after imprisonment is being welcomed by garland at the airport. Change from the current situation is not possible by laws,” said retired Supreme Court justice Nitte Santhosh Kumar Hegde.

He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 20th and 21st annual general meetings together of Bunts Nyaya Mandali at Annex building, Bantara Sangha, Kurla east on April 26.

Nyaya Mandali president, advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash Shetty presided over the meetings. Promoter Bunts Sangha Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty and Bombay Bunts association vice president CA Surendra K Shetty were the guests of honour. Santhosh Hegde honoured Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee for 2021, thinker, senior member of the mandali Dr Sunita M Shetty and Chandrashekar Palethady.

Nyaya Mandali assistant secretary P Dhananjay Shetty was on the dais. Seetarama M Shetty and Sanjiva M Shetty who passed away after rendering valuable service in the Nyaya Mandali were paid homage. 14 managing committee members for the term 2022-2024 were elected. Advocate Kadandale Parari Prakash Shetty was unanimously re-elected president. Honorary secretary advocate Rathnaker Shetty read the list. Jayarama S Malli spoke on behalf of the audience and commended the work of the mandali.

Former president of the mandali, Padmanabha S Payyade, managing committee members N C Shetty, Panduranga Shetty, Shama N Shetty, Harish V Shetty, Jyothi R Shetty, Asha S Shetty and others were present.

Lata P Bhandary sang a prayer. Mandali vice president Dr Prabhaker Shetty Bola welcomed. Honorary treasurer, advocate Ashok D Shetty tabled the accounts of previous year. Honorary secretary, advocate Rathnaker Shetty read the report of previous year meetings and rendered a vote of thanks.
