Mumbai: 80 year old Woman loses Rs 4.7 lac to online fraud

Mumbai, Apr 14: An 80-year-old woman from Vile Parle (West) reportedly lost Rs 4.7 lac in online fraud. The woman was said to be searching for the contact number of a courier service from the internet to send a parcel to her relative in Pune. Victim, Aruna Prakash, learned about the fraudulent transfer of funds from her account when she visited the bank to get the statement printed on her passbook.

Juhu police have sought details of the fraudster who carried out transactions for five consecutive days. "He asked her to click on a link to transfer Rs 10, and after gaining remote access to her phone, stole bank details," police said.
