Mumbai, Mar 30: “Samrat Ashoka was the noble king that ruled India. Mayuri Foundation will be celebrating his birth anniversary in front of Durgaparameshwari temple at Mulki at Mangaluru for the first time on April 14, 2022 to recollect his social concern and social work,” said Mayuri Foundation founder and president Jaya K Shetty.

Speaking in a news conference held at Silver Inn hotel auditorium, Mumbai Marol on March 30 he said that former union minister Dr Subrahmanya Swamy will be the chief orator in the programme. “Samanwaya dance company and Mahamaya Arts foundation, Bengaluru will present Vasudaiva Kutumbakam dance skit,” he said.

Jayarama A Shetty Kadandale said that Samrat Ashoka was the famous king who ruled the largest kingdom in ancient India. “He was born in Pataliputra, currently known as Patna. The Ashoka chakra, Ashoka pillar and four lions on his flag are in use in India’s flag even now. Satya Meva Jayathe written on India’s flag says that only truth wins and not falsehood. The rule of principles and values of Samrat Ashoka should be an example for us,” he said.
