Mumbai: Karnataka Janapada Parishat Bengaluru inaugurates its Mumbai unit

Mumbai, Mar 21: Karnataka Janapada Parishat Bengaluru president T Thimmegowda inaugurated its Mumbai unit at Bantara Bhavan, Kurla east on Sunday evening, March 20.

The programme was chaired by its Maharashtra unit president Dr R K Shetty. Well known auditor in Mumbai Pravin Bhoja Shetty inaugurated the programme. Founder president of Gurme Foundation Kaup, Suresh Shetty was the chief guest. Rajyotsava awardee artist, founder of Kala Jagathu Mumbai Dr Thonse Vijayakumar Shetty set in motion Janapada festival. Bantara Sangha Mumbai president Chandrahas K Shetty and Karnataka Janapada Parishat Maharashtra unit vice president Dr Surendra Kumar Hegde, honorary chief secretary Ashok Pakkala, honorary chief treasurer Ganesh G Naik, joint secretary Padmanabha Sasihitlu, joint treasurer Kusuma C Poojary, unit women’s wing president Anita U Shetty and cultural division president Srinivas P Safalya were on the dais.



Well known art teams of Maharashtra performed variety Karnataka Janapada dances, group songs as competitions and veteran artist Jabbar Sumo performed ‘Kurukshetra Kaurava’ yakshagana play with his team.

Tulu Koota foundation Nalasofara won first prize, Ayyappa Mitra Mandali second prize and Bhramari Yaksha Nritya Kala Nilaya won third prize. Billavara association Mira Road local office team was presented a consolation prize. President R K Shetty and heads of local organizations, gave away prizes and congratulated the participants.

Ashok Pakkala introduced the guests. Karnuru Mohan Rai compered the programme and rendered a vote of thanks.
