Mumbai, Jan 21:
MLA Krishna Hegde of suburban Vile Parle distributed thousands of copies of ‘Kalnirnay’ calendar to the residents of his constituency.  Kalnirnay is a well-known calendar in Maharashtra and is a must in most Maharashtrian homes. Hegde has used the calendar wisely highlighting the development work done by him and the Congress Party on the different pages of the calendar with pictures.

Completing one year of his tenure, Hegde has put in his achievements on the calendar -Selected as one of the ‘Top 9 Mumbaikars of 2009’ (January), a prominent newspaper nominating him for ‘Best Political Debut (February)’, starting Milan subway work, Hanuman Road subway, organizing speeches, working as MHADA Board member and MLA fund utilization (March), CCTV installation in constituency (April), re-opening Bahar Cinema (May), Juhu Beach clean-up drive (June), notebook distribution for poor children (July), Dahi Handi for children (August), free medical camp and self defense course for women (September), cycle rally to create awareness regarding pollution (October), seminar to counsel students against committing suicides (November), Rajiv Gandhi free computer education programme (December).

Hegde’s calendar concept was appreciated by residents of Vile Parle.  “I have tried to touch all spheres in my one year as MLA  such as education, infrastructure, environment, programmes for women and children, security, entertainment, amenities, and traffic issues”, said Hegde.
