Mumbai, Jan 21: The metro-based Seva Bharati ® organized ‘Nritya Bharati’ a day-long Indian classical dance extravaganza at Mahakavi Kalidas Nratya Madir, Mulund (West), recently. It was held as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of Seva Bharati ®.
Mogaveer Co-operative Bank chairman Kirtiraj K Salian inaugurated the programme. Seva Bharati silver jubilee committee honorary president B Vivek Shetty presided over the programme.
Dance recitals by Guru Gayasree Subramanyan (Bharatanatyam), Radha Mohan (Kuchipudi), Jayasree Nair (Mohiniyatam), Jayasree Rajagopalan (Bharatanatyam), Debi Basu (Odissi), Pavitra Bhat (Bharatanatyam), Ranjana Phadke (Katak) Sandhya Keshav Rao, and Shailaja Madhusudan (Bharatanatyam) were staged in the day-long Nratya Bharati programme.
The evening session of Nratya Bharati was inaugurated by Milton Limited former director Duggappa A Shetty.
Saptagiri Packaging Private Limited director Shankaran Varrier, JAVAAB president Raghu L Shetty and veteran hotelier Sanjeev N Shetty were the chief guests of the occasion. Vivek Shetty presided over the programme.
The Nritya Bhrati lifetime achievement Awards were presented to Guru Jayalaxmi Alva (Bharatanatyam), Guru Gopinat Nair (Katakkali), Guru Asha Joglekar (Katak), Guru Deepak Majumdar (Bharatanatyam), and Guru Ganesh Hiralal Hasal (Katak), on the occasion.
Seva Bharati ® president Jaya K Shetty, honorary chief secretary Bhaskar A Shetty, award committee president Dharmapal U Devadiga, and trustees of Seva Bharati ® were also present.
Jaya K Shetty welcomed the gathering. Rashmi Rao, Shweta Kalyan, Beena Menon, and Mayuri compered the programme. Nithyanand Kotian proposed the vote of thanks.
