Kannada Sangha Bahrain Celebrates ‘Kannada Vaibhava’ with Zeal

Bahrain, Dec 26: Kannada Sangha successfully organized the grand Kannada cultural extravaganza ‘The Kannada Vaibhava-2010’ at the Al Raja School Auditorium, recently.

The cultural heritage of India’s Karnataka state was on display at the mega event. Top artists, writers and entertainers from Karnataka were present with a diverse range of activities in the presence of  around 1,500 people.

Award-winning dramatist, film and TV actor Kasaragodu Chinna led his seven-member troupe with two short drama shows. Multi-faceted Chinna, who is visiting Bahrain for the fourth time, has been a member of both Karnataka Natak Academy and Kerala Sangeeth Natak Academy. He has been involved in several Kannada, Malayalam, Tulu, Konkani and English dramas.

Well-known magician and ventriloquist R Indushree mesmerized the audience with her dolls and magic show.  Indushree who has presented more than 3,000 shows all over the world in the last 15 years.  She is believed to be India’s first woman ventriloquist, uses current affairs as a peg in her dialogues.   She already has etched her name in the Limca Book of Records and has set her eyes on entering the Guinness Book of World Records through her performance with a 10 feet doll. Indushree was ably supported by visiting standup comedian Ramnath Narasimhamurthy.

Pattabhirama, had complete control over the crowd with his variety of mimicry and shadow play. Sangha’s artists presented a unique show titled ‘Karnataka Darshana’ - a glimpse of the state’s history and heritage. Bahrain’s leading singer Vijaya Sathyanarayana entertained the crowd with some foot taping songs.

The mega show was inaugurated by Dr Sunder Naik, additional principal chief conservator of forests, Karnataka, also  Kasargod Chinna, Kanada Sangha president  Rajkumar, vice president  H.K Pai and general secretary  Ramesh Ramachandran were on the podium. In his address Dr Sunder Nair congratulated the Sangha and expressed his happiness and felt proud to represent Karnataka during the event. He also appreciated the work of Kannada Sangha in keeping the culture and heritage of Kannada alive in this far away island.

Rajkumar thanked all Sangha members for their hard work and enthusiasm for the success of the programme. Also thanked all the sponsors for their full hearted support. The show was a huge hit with audiences glued to their seat for 6 hours.

    kannada vaibhava 2010 held in Al Raja school was the great success for the all kannadigas .Coming kannada vaibhavas should be more colourfull than the lost one.

    Last Year Karnataka CM Mr. Yediyurappa has attended Kannada Vaibhava and had granted Rs. 1 crore to Bahrain Kannada Sangha. was this Promise fulfilled.
