Kundapur: Gang beats up youth in bus for speaking to other community girl

Kundapur, Feb 3: In a very disgraceful incident, a youth was beaten up black and blue in a bus for speaking to a girl student though he knew her just because she belonged to a different community. 

Shashank, a first year student at ITI of Bidkalkatte is the victim who was assaulted by a gang of four youths. Shashank, who is a resident of Belinje was travelling by bus with his friends Prajwal and Ganesh. Suddenly a gang of four youths questioned Shashank for speaking with a girl from other community and assaulted him. In addition, they also allegedly threatened the victim.

Three out of the four who beat up the victim, got down from the bus on the way while only one travelled till Kundapur. Injured Shashank is being treated at a government hospital in the city.

As the news of the assault went viral,  activists from pro-Hindu organizations gathered at Shastri Circle of the city leading to a tense situation for some time. DySP Srikanth K, CPI Gopikrishna and PSI Sadashiva Gavaroji visited the spot.
