Bengaluru: Restroom in Majestic railway station converted into prayer centre?

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Feb 1: There are allegations that a spot earmarked as restroom for the coolies located in Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna railway station (Majestic) has been transformed into a prayer room by the members of a community. This has given rise to controversy.

After a video about the said prayer centre became viral on Twitter, activists of Hindu Janajagruti Samithi and other Hindu activists rushed to the railway station and conducted a fact check. Later, they held a meeting with the senior officials of the railway station and urged them to take legal action against the coolies who have illegally created a mosque inside the railway station.

The restroom was meant for the coolies belonging to all the communities. It is said that the room was converted into a prayer centre about ten years back. Reportedly people of other communities are barred from visiting the room. Hindu activists said that they have information that the room has also been given a name.

A senior railway police officer said that the officials were not aware of this fact till the video appeared on social media. Railway Protection Force sources said that the officials have visited the spot, duly adding that legal action will be taken if the spot has been changed into a prayer centre.

Why is the objection being raised now - after 10 years of the restroom being used as a Prayer room??? Looks like everyone was fine with this practice for years, but now that everywhere religious issues drama is trending, why not add more fuel to the fire......... Divide & Rule policy seems to work for our current government.

What's the big deal? make it a restroom! As Muslims, we can pray anywhere, if its named coolie restroom or a prayer hall, it does not make a difference. I would oppose people painting green inside the restroom & turning it into a prayer room that's just for one community. Surprising to see people talking about Ganja & cattle theft here, should be carrying a lot of external fed hate inside. Sad :(

Anwar, you guys can pray anywhere no one stop.but dont make rest room to prayer hall. I see some of the school prayer halls are created for all to.pray but when you go in full.of.rugs by one community where ignored the others communities all part.of the prayers halls. Respect.others.and get respected. Otherwise this world will.turns into interolable place to live with dominance by one community .

Prabhu mamu I am not against anyone but this matter is very serious. Everywhere you go little space spares for coolies to rest or students to take care of thier betterment and turns into prayer hall exclusively for one community is not warranted. This is very common by these people in the western nations and politicians get nervous to say anything due to political correctness and unwanted high light. This is a very serious matter regardless of which political party should be stopped such act immediately. Washroom to study rooms in university in America try to convert prayers halls either these people are gone crazy or blind about thier belief system or they are imposing other to tolerate their nonsense. Enough is enough. Every one support and stop such misbehavior
