Mangaluru, Jan 26: India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 with a lot of pride and fervour. It was a matter of great Pride for all of us because on this day in the year 1950 the Constitution of India came into force and our country India became Republic country with the great efforts of Dr B R Ambedkar.

St Agnes CBSE School celebrated this special day with great éclat. The programme began with prayer service by seeking God to bless happiness and prosperous life for all with the message of we all Indians are like a family and unity is our tool.

The chief guest for the day Akshatha R Sudhir who is currently working as a guest faculty in St Agnes College in the department of political science. The chief guest hoisted the national flag and addressed the students to do their best and feel proud to be an Indian. She was given a grand escort by the school band. The programme added colour by the presence of Sr Agatha Mary AC. former superior general and former provincial superior of Karnataka province. To commence the celebrations the students presented a scintillating dance on some of the patriotic songs by spreading the order of patriotism everywhere. With a meaningful street play on freedom and our rights.

The school reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm by our school teacher's patriotic song. Various competitions were conducted virtually for the students of grade I-X on behalf of this important day. Here are the winners:



Shaina Rebello a student of grade X brought out the significance of the day.

The programme was hosted by Shainel D’souza and Ananya of grade X. Shainel also welcomed the gathering. The programme was well coordinated by teachers Raina Coelho and Chandrakala.
The principal Sr Maria Gracilda AC delivered her words of wisdom and shared her thoughts on developing patriotism in all.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Tanvi of grade X thanking everyone for their presence and showing patriotism on this important day. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets.
The management, the administrator, principal and the staff congratulated the winners and wished everyone a Happy Republic Day.
