Mumbai: Maharashtra govt proposes offline school reopening from Jan 24

Mumbai, Jan 20: The School Education department here has proposed reopening of schools for offline classes from January 24. The proposal has been sent to the chief minister’s office.

A decision is expected in the cabinet meeting on Thursday January 20.

School education minister Varsha Gaikwad office said that the proposal which has been sent seeks granting permission to restart offline operations of schools based on decisions taken by local administrations. It also encourages vaccination of all teaching and non-teaching staff as well as children in the eligible age group

It may be recalled, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had asked all schools to go back to online classes which had reopened due to rising Covid cases.
