Muscat: Kundapur XI Win 'Gala Cup' Cricket Tournament

Muscat, Dec 13: It was a delightful day for youths at Ghala on Friday December 10, thanks to Thomas D'Mello, Ajith D'Costa and Kundapur XI members who organized 'Gala Cup 2010' cricket tournament for the expatriates working in Oman especially in Gala region.

Four teams - Al Naba, BEC, Tanuf Water and Kundapur XI, participated and and after the round robin matches, Kundapur XI and Al Naba entered the finals.

Kundapur XI captain Walter D'Souza won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 96 runs in 10 overs, thanks to Steevan Colaco's brilliant knock of two sixes and four boundaries, besides three wickets.

Al Naba lost their wickets at regular intervals and could only manage 68 runs for 7 wickets by the end of their innings.

Steevan Colaco was adjudged man of the series. Trophies were distributed by Thomas D'Mello to the winners and and runner-up teams.
