Bahrain, Dec 13: The Konkan Singers Club, Bahrain celebrated the feast of their patron St Cecilia and 33rd Annual Day at the Baan Saeng Thai Auditorium on Saturday December 11.
The programme started with the early bird contest, where draws were taken to decide the two winners of the first ten members who attended the function on time. They won the membership subscriptions for one year and therefore they enjoy the free membership for the year 2011.
In the absence of the entertainment secretary, the treasurer Charles D'Mello compered the show.
The chief guest of the function was the assistant parish priest of the Sacred Heart Church and the spiritual director of the Konkani Community in Bahrain Fr Fedrick D’Souza, who cut the cake along with the Executive Committee members.
President Henry D’Almeida welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude to the members who attended the show and also the sponsors.
The highlight of the event was the Xmas tree party for members children below 12 years of age. Santa Claus gave away gifts to the children. Children were excited, as they were loaded with lots of chocolates.
Members' children, Rensilla, Jovita, Lavita, Leon, Nimrith, Karan, Amanda and Eunice performed the cultural and entertainment dances.
DJ Philip rocked the gathering.
