Mumbai: Roopesh Rao Elected New Prez of Tiya Welfare Association

Mumbai, Dec 11: Tiya Welfare Association here has unanimously elected Roopesh Rao as the president of Thiya Welfare Association for the period 2010-11 and 2011-12. 

A wellknown member of Tiya Community in Mumbai Roopesh Rao was the ex-chairman of Tiya Samaj Mumbai Youth Wing. Wellknown social worker Kamlesh Bolar, Sathyati S Palan and Seeta K Salian are the vice– presidents of the association.

Vicky Bolar (honorary general secretary), Vasudeva Palan (joint secretary), Vishwath Baddur (honorary treasurer) and Kajol Rao (joint treaurer) were elected. The trustees are Govind Manjeshwar, Yadav Rao, Umesh Manjeshwar, Thimmappa Bangera and Sunder Palan.

Tiya Bhavan sub committee was formed under the chairmanship of Anand Rao. The members of the cultural committee are Chandravati Vasant (chairperson), Gopal Saliyan, R K Suvarna, Krishnappa Billawa, Sangeeta Kotian, Rashmi Manoj and Sandhya Palan. The meeting was concluded with vote of thanks by Yadav M Rao.
