Mangaluru: Youth scrapes through danger by a whisker - Video goes viral

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jan 10: In an incident which happened near Elyarpadavu in Amblimogaru village in Ullal, a youth riding a scooter who came at high speed, escaped hitting a private bus that was taking a U-turn. When attempting to avoid hitting the bus, his vehicle hit a gate. The scooter then went through a small space between a shop and a tree.

The way the youth steered his vehicle in filmi style in an effort to avoid hitting any object has become viral in the social media.

Screengrab from the viral video

The incident happened opposite the Indo Fisheries fish processing unit near Elyarpadavu. The daredevilry of the youngster was captured by the three CCTV cameras of this firm. The youth hailing from Malar in Pavoor village escaped from the jaws of death by a slender margin. In this incident, the scooter also hit the door of the fish processing unit. When the scooter passed in between the shop and a tree, his helmet fell down. The youth continued to ride his scooter at the same speed.

The city bus bearing No. 44 which moves between the city and Elyarpadavu was being maneuvered by the driver for returning to the city in front of Indo Fisheries ahead of Elyarpadavu when the scooterist came at high speed. He managed not to hit the bus and then moved between the iron rod on the roof of a shop near the said fish processing unit and a tree near it. There was hardly enough space for one scooter to move between the rod and the tree but the scooterist managed to ride the scooter without stopping. The skilful way in which the scooter was handled is being appreciated and because of that the video has become viral.

Most of the time, people keep coming out of the small gate of the fish processing unit, and watchmen usually guard the gates. Children and pedestrians keep moving on the side of the road. As the incident happened when no one was around, a catastrophic accident was averted. The only damage done was to the gate.

Initial mistake is from the bus driver who suddenly try to took U turn without seeing in his rear view mirrors. I do agree that the bike rider was also speedy but he managed to survive the accident.

What indicator to give anna? Cannot see such big bus taking U turn?? If anything see how the bus driver applies sudden brakes into the turn. He should be praised for that. Not the reckless fool on the 2 wheeler who was clearly speeding. Find him and penalise him. We dont want daredevils on our roads.

If you watch the vedio properly, I don't think he was wearing the helmet, so take him to task first, then praise his actions

2 things to notice 1) Bus drivers fault for not taking help of bus cleaner/conductor...total fault. 2)scooter guy over speeding and not wearing helmet. total lucky guy. both should be fined.

I don't see any skill here. He has kept his nerve (which is good) and just lucky from every corner. High speed and over greed both dangerous. But sometimes luck favors at short term.
