Mulund Bunts to Celebrate Fifth Anniversary on Dec 18

The fifth anniversary celebrations of Mulund Bunts will be held on Saturday December 18 in the metro.
 
Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde will be the chief guest of the occasion. Bunts Sungh – Mumbai president Aikala Harish Shetty, Sandalwood music director Gurukiran Shetty, Telugu movie actor Anushka Shetty and celebrities will attend as guests of honour.
 
The local veterans of Bunts community will be felicitated during the programme.
 
Both Gurukiran and Shivadwaj will stage a musical extravaganza as part of entertainment programme.

Mulund Bunts, an association of Bunts community residing in the central suburb of both Mulund (East and West) has been playing its vital role in promoting cultural bonds and unity. It has been involved in supporting the community brethren through various social welfare activities, says Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty, founder president of Mulund Bunts.
 
Mulund Bunts was formed by 50 like-minded Bunts residing in the central suburb of Mulund five years ago. It was established under the leadership of Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty to help the poor brethren of Bunts community and children in the society, besides helping the poor widows.
 
"Any task should be done in a unique way," says Vivek Shetty who has been organizing innovative programmes. "Mulund Bunts has been established with the objective of strengthening the community bond with annual get-togethers and to stage cultural programmes in an innovative manner," says Shetty, "We have been helping our community people. The success lies with the core committee of 50 members and women's wing that together co-ordinate the welfare activities," says Vivek Shetty.
 
Mulund Bunts is known to promote Tulu culture of undivided Dakshina Kannada district in the metro. It has also been organizing health check-up camps, fitness programmes, providing financial assistance to the cancer-affected, organising Bhajan programmes to promote spirituality among community youth and children, distribution of free books to community students and others in the society, holding lectures by distinguished doctors to create awareness on cardiac ailments, etc. It has published a directory of its members along with pictures to help the community.
 
Mulund Bunts was inaugurated by former Chief Justice of India Santhosh Hegde, Maharashtra minister Suresh H Shetty and Manipal University former vice-chancellor Dr B M Hegde here on October 2, 2005.
 
Mahesh Tutorials managing director Mahesh Shetty and Sandalwood music director Gurukiran Shetty attended Mulund Bunts first anniversary celebrations in metro in 2006. Nitte Education Trust chairman N Vinay Hegde and Vasudha Chemicals managing director Barkoor Sudhakar Shetty were present during the second anniversary celebrations in 2007. Abu Dhabi NRI B R Shetty and Matrabhoomi Credit Co-operative Society chairman Ajekar Devasya Shivaram G Shetty were present in 2008. Indian Ambassador to Sweden Balakrishna Shetty, ICC Cricket World Cup – 2011 and BCCI chief administrative officer Professor Ratnakar Shetty and others graced the anniversary celebrations held in 2009.
 
Mulund Bunts was successful in strengthening the community bonds in the metro, led by its founder president Vivek Shetty along with honorary chief secretary H Prakash Shetty, treasurer A Harshavardan Shetty, joint secretary K Jayaram Rai and women's wing president Prabha V Shetty for the first three years.
 
Dr Satyaprakash Shetty (vice-president), Palimar Vasant N Shetty (honorary chief secretary), Jaya Sooda (honorary treasurer), P N Shetty and Anant Adyantaya (joint secretaries), S B Shetty (convener), Sujata K Shetty (women's wing president), Sarala R Shetty (vice-president), Mamata M Shetty (secretary), Meenakshi R Shetty (treasurer), Soni R Shetty (joint secretary), Roopa J Shetty (joint treasurer), Ultoor Mohandas Shetty (building committee president), Ramesh S Shetty and Ratnakar Shetty Bansoori (vice-president), H Prakashchandra Shetty (secretary), A Harshavardan Shetty (treasurer), B Srinivas Shetty (cultural committee president), Manmohan Konde (vice-president) and executive committee comprising 46 members form the Mulund Bunts.
 
The office bearers of Mulund Bunts urged the community and members of Tulu – Kannadiga organizations to attend the programme in large numbers.
