Mangaluru: St Agnes CBSE School celebrates National Mathematician Day

Mangaluru, Dec 22: India celebrates Mathematics Day every year on December 22 to mark Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday across the country with several educational events in schools and colleges. It was on this day in 1887, the Indian mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan was born. The former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on February 26, 2012, declared December 22 as the National Mathematics Day to mark the mathematician’s birth anniversary. Srinivasa Ramanujan, is also known as the ‘man who knew infinity’.

To commemorate this important day St Agnes school left no stone unturned in celebrating this day. The significance of the day was presented by the student in the morning assembly. A decorative notice board was placed at the entrance of the school depicting the day. A number of activities were conducted to the students to bring out their innovative skills in mathematics. The following is the list of activities conducted.

The management congratulates the school for recognition of the day and wishes good luck to all students to excel in the subject. The planning and preparation is the contribution of teachers Reshma and Lolita.
