59th Show of Konkani Drama ‘Mataro Chorbela’ Staged at St Joseph’s Parish

The 59th show of Konkani drama ‘Mataro Chorbela’ by playwright Francis Fernandes Cascia was staged at St Joseph’s parish, Mira Road, here on Sunday November 28.

The drama directed by Joy Paladka included actors - Edwin Banz, Betty Naaz, Julie Vaz, Shanti Barboza, Peter Pais, Gregory Sequeira Niddody, Flora D’Souza Kalmady, Royshy Sequeira Paladka and Francis Fernandes Cascia, the same group who have been performing since 25 years and some new talented face Royshy Sequeira Paladka whose acting was well appreciated by the audience.



The sixtieth show of Mataro Chorbela will be staged  at Kalaangann, Mangalore during the first World Konkani Cultural Convention on Thursday December 2. 
 
The metro based Noronha Properties proprietor Robert Noronha was the chief guest of simple ceremony held during the interval, who felicitated Francis Fernandes Cascia on the occasion. Fr Dominic Vaz, parish priest of Mira Road parish led the prayer service.
 
Malaika Group managing director Gilbert Baptist and entrepreneur Maurice Pinto were the guests of honour and they felicitated the director Joy Paladka. 
 
Konkani Catholic Association president John Crasta, joint secretary Diego Rodrigues, treasurer Lawrence Mathias, Hilda Serrao, Celine Mendonca and Violet Mascarenhas among others were present on the dais.  Canute Menezes compered the programme.

    A young dynamic girl Roycee Sequeira, excelled in one of the most popular and record breaking pure Mangalorean Konkani Drama “MHATARO CHORBELA” with her spectacular performance. She has ruled the hearts of audience and has received several applauds for her smart looks, acting, dance and good delivery of dialogues though she has born & brought up in Mumbai and studied in English medium. This is the first time that she is performing in Konkani Drama and Mira Road was her second performance. All the best to her in future endeavors.
