Mangaluru: Srinivas University conducts day-long national level CME

Mangaluru, Dec 20: College of Physiotherapy, Srinivas University conducted a day-long national level CME on 'Evidence informed practice in mechanical neck pain and headache- an update' on December 18, 2021 at Mangala Hall, Srinivas Hotel. Around 120 delegates participated from various colleges in and around Karnataka. Six renowned speakers were invited from across the country.

The conference was presided and inaugurated by chancellor of Srinivas University CA A Ragavendra Rao, the chief guest of the event, Dr Srinivasa Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, the guest of honor, Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar development. Dr S Rajasekar, dean, College of Physiotherapy was also present for the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural session started with the prayer song followed by the welcome address delivered by Dr Carolin Menezes, assistant professor, college of Physiotherapy. The event was spiritually enlightened by the lamp lightening.

Dr S Rajasekar, Dean and organising chairperson, briefed the importance of evidence based practice in mechanical neck pain and headache. CA A Ragavendra Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University, Srinivasa Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar development showered their words of wisdom and encouragement to all the delegates. The formal ceremony ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Anupama Pathak, organising joint secretary, College of Physiotherapy.

Post inaugural session was taken over by the speakers who shared their insights on the role of physiotherapy and focused on the importance of physical assessment and management of mechanical neck pain and headache.

All the speakers were felicitated with mementoes as a token of appreciation. In addition to this the winners of the poster presentation were awarded with cash prizes.
