Media Release

Canada, Dec 20: A golden chapter in the history of Konkani music has been unfolded and the much awaited first-ever Konkani Song 'Novo-Bhorvoso' made in Canada under the newly created banner 'DoReMiFa Creations' released on YouTube on December 19, 2021 at 8.00 pm Toronto time. The Mangalurean Konkani-speaking community musicians / singers / lyricist based in Canada collectively created a history. A fascinating musical song of bringing new hope to the whole of mankind released, which is the first of its kind in the country of Canada. It is hard work and vision realized of the Konkani by the Mangalurean Konkani people living in Canada but for the world.

A couple of months ago, a brilliant thought came into the minds of two stalwarts and visionaries of the Konkani literature and music world in Canada, Gerry D Mello Bendur, and Ashith Glen Pinto. Both of them have always worked in the past to exhibit and transform revolutionary ideas into reality. This time too, they thought of the same process. First, they launched a banner DoReMiFa Creations with the utmost desire to work for the Konkani Music in Canada through uniting many talents based in Canada. The second thought was to formulate and create a song in Konkani to be presented by the renowned Konkani musicians and singers residing in Canada.

Novo Bhorvoso( ANew Hope) is a unique but yet universal-themed song created and composed by none other than Gerry D’Mello. Gerry D’Mello is a renowned name in the Konkani world of literature, music, and theater for the last few decades. Gerry is a renowned all-rounder in the field of Konkani Music, Drama, and literature and he explains about the new release and points out the creation of lyrics for the song. “For Novo Bhorvoso I have written the lyrics from my heart. Every word has filled with sentimental feelings. If we see around, the world has gone through extremely difficult situations due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Here, I should honestly say, Jesus, is the only solution and support for all disasters and conflicts of the life and world. Novo Bhorvoso will certainly give a new hope for all the human beings of the world."

Ashith Glen Pinto’s arrival to the beautiful land of Canada has given a new inspiration to many Konkani-speaking people, especially Konkani singers living in Canada. A versatile musician of Konkani, worked tirelessly to furnish a new and modern dimension to the Konkani Music in Mangaluru. He was instrumental to organize and present, one of its kind marathon and successful singing competition, ‘MhozoThalloGaithalo’ involving a multitude of Konkani singers of the Coastal Karnataka region and then, also to the Gulf countries. He had developed the concept of DeReMeFa on TV Daijiworld 24x7 and planned the full show presentation. ‘Novo Bhorvoso’ is his thrilling Music composition to give a mesmerizing musical experience which is crafted by Ashith. Editing of the song and Mastering of Novo Bhorvoso is also carried out by Ashith

Alwyn Noronha is a well-known personality in the field of Mangaluru’s Konkani Music field. He has carried out the harmony of the song and recording has been done at Studio Ten04, Toronto.

Well-known Konkani singers based in Canada are rendering their beautiful voices to this magical song and they are Merlyn Rodrigues, Babita Pinto, Marina Fernandes, Marita Correa, Sonia Monteiro, Violet Pais, Lucy D'Mello, Manohar Pais, Lancy Rodrigues, Edwin D'Souza, Gerry D'Mello. Merlyn Rodrigues is the choir director of the song ‘Novo Bhorvoso’.

Canada is famous for its gorgeous scenery and breathtaking nature. Its beauty cannot be described in words but can be partly captured in pictures and videos. Winter in Canada has enchanting beauty. Novo Bhorvosohas offered glimpses of beautiful Canada through the lenses of Soul Productions, Toronto, a well-known video production company in Canada. Throughout the filming of the song, the team Soul Productions has given special attention to capture the beauty of Canada without losing the essence of the song. Perhaps this is the first-ever Konkani song filmed during the snow fall and in negative weather conditions.

TV DaijiWorld 24x7, Daijiworld.com and Radio DaijiWorld are the official Media Partners for Novo Bhorvoso.

As organizers announced, this trendsetting song will be a joyful Christmas gift for the Mangalureans around the world.
