Panaji: Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Assn Men, Women to Participate in Fed Cup Championship in TN

Panaji, Nov 27: Goa Tennis Ball Cricket Association’s men and women teams will participate in the 19th Federation Cup Tennis Ball Cricket Championship to be held from at YMCA Stadium, Chennai, Tamilnadu from November 29 to December 1.

Sarvesh Naguesh Gaude of Kunkolim, Priol, Ponda-Goa and Miss Sharmila Naik of Penha de franca , Bardez  will be captains in men and women section, respectively.

The Goa teams were accorded warm farewell by the sports authority of Goa officials led by Vinayak Naik, joint-director (Accounts), SAG, Navin Acharya, assistant secretary (programme), SAG, Ropesh Naik, secretary, GTBCA  and in presence of  Devanand Naik and Trupti Naik, managers of the Goa teams and coaches Nilesh Naik and Ajinkya Naik.

The teams were selected based on the performance in the pre-federation camp held at Hedgewar High School ground, Panaji-Goa and at Kunkolim ground, Ponda-Goa, recently under the guidance of Nilesh Naik and Ajinkya Naik

The Goa teams will leave for the championships on Saturday November 27.

The Goa women teams so far have won 8 Federation Cup titles and one third place and men teams have won three Federation Cup and one second place from year 2002 to till date.
