Puttur: Violent protest opposite Uppinangady police station - SP promises action

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Dec 16: Westran range inspector general of police (IGP), Devajyoti Ray, district superintendent of police (SP), Rishikesh Sonawane, along with additional SP, Shivakumar Gunare, visited Uppinangady on Wednesday December 15, and reviewed the situation.

Speaking to media persons, the SP said that the investigation into the saber attack is going on at a brisk pace. He said that the actual accused in the case will be identified and legal steps will be taken.

He said that three activists of the Popular Front of India had been summoned to the police station for questioning. "A crowd which staged a protest opposite the police station at Uppinangady tried to force its way into the police station and behaved violently. The police had to cane the crowd and the police were also attacked. Three cases in this connection have been registered and the task of identifying the culprits is in progress," he explained.

He requested the people not to fall prey to rumours. "The people have to repose trust in the police department. If they have any confusion or doubt, they can directly contact the concerned. No one should nurture the notion that they can force the department to bend through coercion. We have been taking all precautions to ensure that no innocents are booked," he stated.

Because of the prevailing tension in Uppinangady due to violence, additional police patrolling has been arranged. Reserve police forces from three states have been deployed in certain strategic locations, he stated.

Readers, His Royal Highness, Excellency Mohammed Bin Salman, has banned Tablighis Jammat, name calling it as a " Gateway of Terrorism " Furthur he has also controlled the decibels of loudspeakers in his own country. Wonder why the Central and state governments are hesitant in incorporating those laws on all radicalized, anarchists organizations in our nation !!!

Like in UP, the people who have damaged public property, they should be made to pay for that. Here the cm is only concerned about his seat. Can anyone dare to attack a police station in UP.

Dear Rajesh, nice suggestion. But, i dont think you will ask for this if the voilaters and goondas damaging Govt + public property are goondas hired by sanghis. Our CM is not ready to condemn unsocial moral policing by these goondas. I think sanghi goondas are free to do anything and people from minorities are falsely targetted. Karnataka police are actign ike agents of sanghis.

PFI, SDPI and BJP are equally dangerous to the society. In this case people are finding faults in police behaviour because, they are not acting against BJP leaders who are inciting violence. They want to target only minorities due to politicl pressure. A month ago a RSS leader made derogatory statements about top police officers and district in charge minister. he had also threatened them with violence. What action was taken against them till now? If the same statements were given by a minority community, imagine the situation..

This kind of rioting is just too much. There should be cases filed on all those who had gathered there. The news is that many were outsiders. This is not new. There are gangs from outside a place who will come and harass the public. There are such incidents earlier also. Police must deal with such mobs mercilessly.
