Mangaluru: Bank employees strike Dec 16, 17 - Services may be hit

Mangaluru, Dec 16: Vincent, district convener of United Forum of Bank Unions, said that the national level bank strike called for by the bank employees will be supported by the bank staff in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts too. The strike is being held on December 16 and 17 by staying away from work.

The unions are up in arms against the bank privatization policy of the central government. The strike is sure to result in the crippling of banking services during the strike period. Vincent stated that the bank employees are agitated as the government is planning to privatise certain public sector banks.
