Mangaluru/Udupi, Dec 8: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, December 8, reported 15 new coronavirus while Udupi registered 4 cases.
As per the Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin, a total of 22,99,812 samples have been tested so far, out of which 21,83,822 have turned out to be negative.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,15,990 out of which 137 are currently active.
As many as 11 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,698.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,08,84,770 as fine in 89,908 incidents of mask violation.
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 12,98,192 samples have been tested so far.
A total of 4 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 76,945 out of which 64 are currently active.
A total of 8 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. Coronavirus has claimed 477 lives in the district so far.
So far 9,46,561 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 7,55,367 have received the second dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
