Puttur, Dec 6: Assailants, who arrived on 20 bikes and a car, attacked a fish merchant and a buyer with swords and rods near Subramanya Cross of Uppinangady on the midnight of December 6 and injured them grievously.
According to the details filed in the FIR, Mohan Das, son of Anni Shetty, resident of Kajekaru Mane, Uppinangady Kasaba village, and his brother Ashok have fish selling business near Subramanya Cross. As usual on December 6, Ashok and Mohan Das were in the fish shop doing business. Person named Mahesh, who is known to Ashok, was buying fish. All of sudden around 25 to 30 youths arrived at the shop on 20 motorbikes and one car from Kasaba village end on Bengaluru-Mangaluru national highway, with the intention of taking revenge for the incident that occurred at Ilanthila on December 5, and started to attack Ashok, Mohan Das and Mahesh with the intention of killing them.




After attacking Mohan Das, Ashok and Mahesh, the assailant sped in the motorcycles and car in which they arrived. Accused were speaking in Byari language and were calling names like Naushad, Rauf, Shair, Ashraf and Rashid among themselves.
Complainant Mohan Das received injuries on his head and chest. His brother Ashok received a severe wound on his right hand and also on his back. Mahesh got injured on his right ear and cheek. The injured were rushed to the hospital by Ravinandan and others who are known to the complainant.
A case in this regard is registered in Uppinangady police station.
