Panaji, Nov 20: The Photo Journalist's Association Goa (PJAG) here organized a session on the legal aspects of photo journalism for its members at the office premises of the Goa Union of Journalists here on Friday November 19.

The session was conducted by assistant law professor at Dnyanprasarak Mandal's College (DMC), Assagao Shripad Merchant. In his session, Merchant explained the legal norms of photojournalism put by the Press Council of India and highlighted each norm with desired and appropriate examples. The session also focussed on the various legal rights and acts which affects photojournalism, 'The right to privacy', 'National commission for protection of children's right', 'The Juvenile justice Act' and others.

The session was followed by an interactive debate between the speaker and the PJAG members. The PJAG members raised many questions relating to the legal and sensitive aspects of photojournalism which was well answered by the speaker.

President of the Photo Journalist's Association Goa, Rajtilak Naik welcomed the gathering and general secretary, Atish Naik proposed the vote of thanks. General secretary of the Goa Union of Journalist's, Sudesh Arlekar was also present.
