Kundapur, Dec 3: New Youth Red Cross unit was launched recently at Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapura in association with Indian Red Cross society, Kundapur Taluk.
Jayakar Shetty, chairman, Indian Red Cross society, Kundapur Taluk unit inaugurated the unit.
He was giving the information about the activities of the society and its significance, and addressed the students and said, "Today’s young generation should involve themselves in such social activities".
Shivaram Shetty, treasurer of Indian Red Cross society administered the oath to the volunteers.
The principal of the college Dr Chandra Rao Madane presided over the programme. In his address Rao said, "Blood donation a great donation. Hence, he motivated the students to donate blood in large number.
A blood donation camp is organized by Youth Red Cross unit.
Indian Red Cross society, Kundapur Taluk management committee members Ganesh Achar, Sadashiv Shetty, professor Melwyn D’souza, vice principal of the College, Varun Kumar, coordinator, Youth Red Cross Unit, faculties and students of the college were present.
Sushmitha, student of the college welcomed the gathering and Thejas compered the programme.
