Udupi: SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital holds Shishyopanayana Samskara ceremony

Udupi, Dec 2: Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Kuthpady, held its 22nd Shishyopanayana Samskara ceremony on Thursday December 2 followed by performing Dhanwantari homa early in the morning in the presence of teachers and students of the college.

Dhanvantri is also believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Father of Medicine Sri Dhanwanthari Jayanthi is being celebrated every year in the college.

Vidwan Purohit Balakrishna Bhat performed the pooja ritual in the college premises.

Principal of the college Dr Mamatha K V participated actively in the pooja rituals.

Subrahmanya Bhat P, associate professor, department of Samhita Siddhantha, Dr Krishnamurthy N, professor, department of Rachana Sharira, graduation and post graduation students recited Lord Dhanwantari and sought blessings.

Dr Nagaraj S, medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Niranjan, chief of post graduation Division, Dr Suchetha Kumari, associate chief of post graduation, Dr Veera Kumar K, student welfare officer, teaching and non-teaching faculties and students were present.
