Panaji, Nov 18: American actor Cory Goldberg is mighty excited about walking the red carpet for the premier of a Konkani movie, in which is he is playing the lead role, at the upcoming International
Film Festival of India (IFFI).

The actor features in Goan filmmaker Rajendra Talak''s ''O Maria'' which will be premiered for IFFI on November 27. "I would be thrilled to come to IFFI. I have walked on numerous red carpets before, never one for a movie premiere. I will make every effort to come to IFFI if my schedule permits me to," the actor said.

Goldberg, a freelance actor and photographer who has shifted his base to Mumbai, has paired up with Shernaz Patel for the Konkani film. On the movie plot, the actor hopes it will raise some awareness to
curb rampant land selling in Goa for monetary gains. "I think Goa is too precious and beautiful to be taken for granted," he said.

Goldberg, a face picked up by the national award winning director from the ''Incredible India'' campaign, says working in a Konkani movie was a wonderful experience. "Everyone on the cast and crew was very welcoming and amicable, and they had a very solid work ethic," he commented.

Also, acting in the Konkani film was unplanned. "If someone would have told me five years ago that I would be acting in Konkani cinema, I would have thought they were crazy," he said adding that he takes things as they come and tries to enjoy the experience.

Goa battled the unscrupulous Regional Plan 2010, which was planning to rob off the greenery of the state. The recent agitation against the mega-projects also speaks volumes about coastal state''s struggle to
save its land.
