Udupi: VTU–Zonal level Table Tennis tournament held at SMVITM, Bantakal

Udupi, Nov 25: VTU-Zonal level Table Tennis tournament 2021-2022 for men and women was held on November 24 2021, at Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management, Bantakal.

Shrishail Murgod, sub-inspector of Police Shirva, Udupi district was the chief guest of inaugural ceremony. Inaugurating the event, the chief guest congratulated the college management for organizing University zonal level sports and encouraged students to participate more in sports for overall development of individual personality. The chief guest also mentioned the importance of following the traffic rules and participating in competitive exams and guided the students how to set the higher goals to be an achiever.

Rathnakumar, secretory, Sode Vadiraja Mutt Education Trust (SSVMET), Udupi as guest of honour for the event he advised the students to have the sportsmanship and not to worry about the results of the match. Also motivated students to read more books. Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat principal, SMVITM and president of the inaugural function wished good luck for the participants and also mentioned the importance of the physical education to keep oneself fit and healthy.

Sachin Prabhu, assistant professor, dept of ECE SMVITM welcomed the gathering and Muralidhar Sharma, PED SMVITM proposed the vote of thanks.
Ganesh Poojary, zonal director VTU, HOD’s and deans of various departments, faculty and staff members were present at the inauguration ceremony. Yashaswini introduced the chief guest to the gathering.

Niharika department of Electronics and communication Engineering compered the programme.
