Udupi: In boost for community, majestic Mogaveera Bhavan inaugurated at Uchila

Udupi, Nov 21: The new Mogaveera Bhavan (community hall) of Dakshina Kannada Mahajan Sangha, a majestic structure built under the initiative of MRPL as part of its corporate social responsibility, was inaugurated at Uchila on national highway 66 here on Sunday, November 21.

Krishna Hegde, group general manager of MRPL inaugurated the 'Kula Mahastri Sabhabhavana' and the official ceremony, in the presence of other guests. MLA Kaup Lalaji R Mendon inaugurated the community hall's stage.

Shalini G Shankar inaugurated the 'Madhav Mangala Sabhabhavana' accompanied by Nadoja Dr G Shankar, the proprieitor of G Shankar Family Trust and the stage was inaugurated by Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat.

Addressing the gathering, MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "Mogaveeras are hardworking and courageous people. They supported and stood by me when I was fighting to save nature. They have supported the Hindu society irrespective of political views. Mogaveeras are committed people and have always been there with me every step of my life. I grew up with them and I was nurtured by Mogaveera people in their home. Hence it is my responsibility to ensure that they are done justice.

"We play politics when elections come, but we unite as friends for development work. This is the biggest community hall constructed by the Mogaveeras in undivided Dakshina Kannada," Kateel added.

Krishna Hegde in his inaugural address said, "This is a good project for Udupi. Many more projects should come up in the city for its development. MRPL has extended a helping hand to the Mogaveera community under CSR activity fund. The community hall is located in the heart of Uchila and is our second big budget project. We wanted to do more CSR activities and donate to the needy, but because of Covid pandemic for two years, the financial graphs came down. Now we do not have enough funds to invest on CSR activity. But I wish and believe, the financial condition will improve, and then we will extend our support for other good programmes."

Kaup MLA Lalaji R Mendon said, "The hall is located in the heart of Uchila city and is easily accessible. This place will become a venue for many upcoming programmes."

MLA Raghupathi Bhat said, "The community hall has boosted the confidence and image of Mogaveera community. It is a matter of pride for the society and has enhanced the respect for the community. Mogaveera people are known to be daring, adventurous and bold."

Yashpal Suvarna, president of undivided Dakshina Kannada Fish Marketing Federation, Mangaluru, Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA of Kaup, and Pramod Madhwaraj, former MLA of Udupi also spoke on the occasion.

Jaya C Kotian, president, Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajan Sangha presided over the programme.

Nadoja Dr G Shankar, businessman Anand C Kunder, engineer Yogish Chandradhar of AG Associates, Hariyappa Kotian, president of building construction committee, Vasudev Salian, temple administrative committee, Sri Mahalakshmi temple, Kishore Salian, Yermal Bada, Shivakumar Mendon, member, Bada village panchayat and state Rajyotsava awardee Ramachandra Baikampady were felicitated by the Sangha.

Dr G Shankar welcomed the gathering and delivered the keynote address, wherein he promised to extend financial support to needy students through the trust fund.

Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for backward classes and social welfare, V Sunil Kumar, Anand C Kunder, president, temple administrative committee, Sri Kulamastri Amma temple, Barkur, Dayanand Suvarna, president, Malpe fishermen association, Vasudev Salian, temple administrative committee, Sri Mahalakshmi temple, Gundu B Amin, president, renovation committee, Sri Mahalakshmi temple, U Ganesh, a representative of Udyavar Sadiya Sahukar, Sunitha from Shivamogga, K K Kanchan, Appi Suvarna, president, Dakshina Kannada Mahila Sangha Uchila and others were present.

Sudhakar Kunder proposed the vote of thanks. Chandresh Pithrody compered the programme.

    First of all Congradulations for the Mogaveera Comunity. They are most Prospered And Politicaly Active community. All community in the district should learn from them. The Community invested in good Education right from the begining even parents were working in small fishing related jobs. All the best mogaveera community with this new Hall and Hope will also help socialy backward classes and no in future.

    Nice grand hall. It is on the NH66 highway side. I hope a proper approach and exit road from and to the highway respectively is there for the hall. Also guests attending the functions in the hall will hopefully not partk their vehicles on the kerb side.

    Proud about the achievement of our Mogaveera Community specially in Karnataka Coastal belt..., all this and more was possible due to the result of Strong foundation laid down since post independence era due to Nehruvian vision to uplift lower strata of the society by emphasizing & imparting knowledge through good education, economic empowerment by giving many jobs in Govt sector enterprises, banks, extending preferential credit schemes to build entrepreneurs in fisheries activies, empowered with land reforms etc., Today Mogaveera Community is a force to reckon all across Hindustan.... it makes very proud as we our selves see many Doctors, Engineers, Legal experts, Bankers, Academicians, CA's etc., in society, In this regard least to say that our Community owe a lot to the legacy of Nehruvian Vision..., Jai Ho....
