Mangaluru: Mount Carmel Central School reaches out to needy on World Day of Poor

Mangaluru, Nov 20: Mount Carmel Central School celebrated the World Day of the Poor on November 19 at a residential home for adults with special needs in the neighbourhood. A few students from class I to III along with the staff members visited this home.

The programme began invoking blessings from the Almighty. There was a short cultural programme of songs and dance followed by games. The winners were given prizes and every inmate was felicitated with a memento. A staff member and her family was a gracious donor of the sumptuous meal for the inmates, while two other staff members gifted them with a burse.

Sr Maria Jyothi gave a message of love and gratitude to the students and staff along with a memento to the school. The celebration ended on a note of mixed emotions of joy, love, compassion and gratitude.
