Mangaluru: St Agnes College organizes guest lecture for literature students

Mangaluru, Nov 15: The postgraduate department of English organised a guest lecture on October 11, 2021. The resource person - Ammel Sharon, PhD candidate, CSSSC, Kolkata, spoke on the topic: 'Academic Writing, Research and Publication in Literatures and Languages'.

Sharon emphasised on research being a ‘Collective Activity’. She walked the audience through the three stages of developing a research. She spoke about the differences between academic writing, polemical writing and journal writing while explaining how to write a journal article. She also shared her experience in selecting a research topic and gave tips to the audience from her expertise.

The intellectually stimulating lecture was followed by an interactive session moderated by Dr Malini Hebbar, associate professor, postgraduate department of English, St Agnes College. The guest lecture was attended by the students of BA and MA English, and the faculty of the departments of English, Kannada, Hindi and Psychology.
