Mangaluru: Expert celebrates Deepavali with grandeur, gaity

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Deepavali celebrations went aglitter at Expert PU College Kodialbail on Saturday November 13. The festival of lights’ came alive when the entire auditorium wore a festive look with diyas and lanterns adorning corridors .A special feature of the celebration was inauguration with a folk art representation of “Mahabali Chakravarthi”

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Prof Balakrishna Shetty, the principal of Sri Ramakrishna College, lauded the vision, relentless hard work and indomitable strength of Prof. Narendra L Nayak in carving out a great institution like Expert. He added that students need not look for a past and distant leader for inspiration as Prof Nayak himself is a great inspiration. He also urged the students to adopt certain principles in life and work hard. He said students must always remember the teachers with gratitude and they must equip themselves with skills to serve the society.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice-chairperson, Expert Group of Institutions said, “Deepavali is one of the biggest and auspicious festivals celebrated all around the globe. The message of Deepavali is relevant to everyone, regardless of your faith or background: goodwill always prevails over evil, light over darkness and friendship over enmity. She enunciated several meaningful rituals and practices followed during the festival and their relevance and significance.

Professor Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions opined that anything done with sincerity and hard work will never be wasted and asked the students to achieve further milestones in their journey of excellence. Prof Ramachandra Bhat the principal, welcomed and Srividya, lecturer in Physics proposed the vote of thanks. Ankush N Nayak, director, Information Technology, Expert Group of Institutions, Deepika A Nayak, architect were the other dignitaries on the dais.

The mesmerising dance performance by the teachers brought forth the festive fervour. ‘VastraVaibhava’, a traditional attire to showcase the 'Best Dressed Boy' and 'Best Dressed Girl' was organised. Spot decoration and Goodudeepa making competitions were also held for the students. Winners were felicitated by the dignitaries. The students Vindya Karnad, Akansha and Sahithya compered the programme.
