Delta Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Mumbai


Mumbai, Nov 5 (IANS): A Delta Airways Amsterdam-Mumbai flight made an emergency landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) here Thursday following a call warning of some unidentified object on board, an official said.

The flight ETW-070 was carrying 244 passengers when it landed around 11 p.m., the official said.

Soon after the landing, the airport security directed the aircraft to a safe location and started a check of all the luggage and cargo on board. This was the second emergency landing of an aircraft at the airport within six hours.

Earlier, a Jet Airways Mangalore-Mumbai flight made an emergency landing following a suspected tyre burst.
